Southern Chilcotin Provincial Park

In late July 2008, we ventured out on our first backpacking trip of the year to the Southern Chilcotin Provincial Park, otherwise known as the Spruce Lake Protected Area. Basically everything in this park -- including the park itself -- has at least two names that differ depending on which map or guidebook you're looking at. The roads were overgrown, there were no signs, and no one could agree on the names, but it was nice that way because it doesn't see much traffic. This part of BC is really beautiful, and very different although it's right next to the Coast Mountains. Unfortunately the photos don't do it justice as it was cloudy most of the time.
